One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.

This blog is unique because you’ll not only hear about our experiences but from two different perspectives. We are the World Citizens, Alycia and Correy. Traveling plays an important role in our budding relationship. We equally share a passion for traveling as a form of education and lasting connections which is why we started this blog.
Alycia’s Corner
As a child, I remember writing about traveling in my 3rd grade class. They asked us to write about our favorite place. My favorite place was the airport (I look back on that and what was I thinking?!!?!). At that time I saw it as a gateway. A gateway to adventure, to wonder….to life.
As an adult that feeling has never left me. As soon as I had the means, I traveled and kept traveling. I wish I could tell you I was one of those people who took the leap and retired at 30 to travel the world (maybe someday soon!) but I’m not. I still have a Corporate job which has allowed me to become super strategic in planning out the timing of my vacations (lots of weekend trips and trips over holidays) and how to do it on a budget. So I have good news for those of you who can’t afford to quit your job just yet…you can do this too!
Although I have a good group of friends that I travel with often, I understand that finding a group of people that have the same feeling is rather difficult and I’ve even had to travel alone sometimes. In exploring places alone, I found the true magic of seeing the world. Truly immersing myself in another’s culture. Trying to feel and understand their way of life. Its great going and seeing the landmarks or top tourist attractions but what about the things that makes the cities home to someone. I guarantee you it’s not the Eiffel Tower (no shade). From the markets that sustain communities to the local parties on Friday nights where everyone can throw their responsibilities out the door for just a moment…..that’s what I’m after. Finding community abroad. Knowing that there’s something bigger happening around you. Seeing how awesome God’s creation is in it’s entirety. There’s nothing like it and I’d love to share that with you.

For as long as I can remember I always looked forward to family vacations. My family would pack up a van and drive countless hours to enjoy a good getaway. I always enjoyed being in hotels and the life that came along with traveling. We never took plane rides so I was weary about flying and never thought of going any further than could be driven. And then I grew up and was exposed to the plethora of resources we have access to create dream vacations in places I hadn’t ever thought of or knew about going to. I took my first flight from Knoxville, TN to Springdale, AR for an interview and every since then I’ve been catching planes like they’re going out of style. As I travel more I’m getting better at it and have decided to share that gift. I’m a fairly new traveler so of course I’m still learning. I’ve mastered the art of extended weekend trips and taking advantage of great deals to book a nice trip to explore a new country or city and I’m hooked on it. I relish the opportunity to explore different cultures and learn about different customs for other communities. Especially when those customs includes a genre of food that satisfies my palette. My goal for every trip is to experience the town as a local would and enjoy some adventurous activities and breathtaking views. Traveling brings me peace and joy and God intends for all His children to experience those, so here’s a way I can share it with you!
We can’t wait to share our travels with you! And just so you know….we hate talking to ourselves! Let’s make this a conversation! Tell me if you’ve been to these places and what your thoughts were! We’d love to hear from you! Stay tuned for more adventures and don’t forget to subscribe below to get notified when we post new updates.
